Opn™ Play and Exceed
Help your children hear better and “open up their world” with Oticon’s line of pediatric hearing aids.
Featuring a variety of brands and some exciting new technology, Oticon’s Opn Play and Exceed Play devices can help with spatial awareness and speech comprehension, as well as language and brain development.
Opn Play
It’s important for children to explore the world around them, and sound and noise are a big part of that exploration. For hard of hearing kids, valuable information often gets lost in the shuffle. The Opn Play helps to distinguish and extract “speech from background noise”.
The Oticon Opn Play is a pediatric hearing aid specifically designed with Brain-hearing technology™ to optimize your child’s incidental learning*, letting them truly process sound in a 360-degree environment.

Xceed Play
For severe-to-profound hearing loss, the Xceed Play pediatric aid is probably your top option. The Xceed line focuses on delivering the extra listening power your child may need.
The Xceed boasts Brainhearing technology in addition to easy wireless connectivity, and can also help prevent any disruptive whistling noise that may interfere with their comprehension abilities.

Incidental Learning*
Did you know that most of what a child learns occurs from incidental learning? Acoustics being what they are, valuable sound and information is not often directed to the listener, which can make it difficult for hard-of-hearing children to pick up on crucial bits of information. Sound environments help us grow, and a child’s spatial/hearing awareness is an important part of their developmental process.
Both the Opn and Xceed play aids can help your child learn. All they have to do is simply listen to the world around them.
Customizable
Oticon pediatric hearing aids come in a variety of styles and customizable colors. Made with tamper-resistant battery doors and allergen-free materials, they’re also sturdy and “designed to stand up to the test of childhood”.
Each aid also comes with it’s own charging base.
Assistive Listening Devices and Accessories
To optimize your child’s speech and sound comprehension, you might want to consider using an assistive listening device in tandem with their pediatric aid.
- The Connect Clip functions as a remote microphone, with the aid as the receiver, perfect for the classroom or after school activities.
- Amigo FM, which functions similarly as the connect clip but can transmit to multiple students in a single classroom. “With an FM system, the teacher wears a microphone to capture their voice, and the signal is then sent via the transmitter to the receiver, which is typically clipped onto the child’s behind-the-ear hearing aids. Virtually all Oticon BTE models are FM-compatible ‘out of the box’ making it easy for children’s hearing aids to integrate into the FM system utilized by their school.”
- The Oticon ON App acts like a remote control, making it easy “for older children and parents to monitor and control the hearing aids from a smartphone. With the app, it is possible to check the battery status and adjust program and volume. It also includes a convenient ‘find my hearing aid’ feature if your child misplaces their devices.”
